Brisbane to Noosa , 139km
Noosa River Holiday Park, $36 Unpowered (Normally $40 however we were given a discount as there are some minor road works going on in the park)
We left Brisbane a little later than anticipated as we spent the morning catching up with friends and doing some last minute shopping. It dawned on me this morning that this would probably be the last time we were near any ‘ok’ clothes shops for the considerable future. I always knew backpacking would mean sacrificing having many new clothes, however what I didn’t realise is how quickly they wear out! When you’re washing the same 3 pairs of shorts every week repeatedly you better be prepared for them to look a little jaded after a few rounds. My rule is, for every new item I buy, I need to donate (or bin) an old item. It works pretty well but my backpack still barely zips…
We also got an exciting delivery today! Our new ‘action cam!’ (I cant say GoPro because it’s more of a GoPo…) However, the reviews are really good so I cant wait to go and test it out in Noosa National Park tomorrow.
We left Brisbane around 3pm and arrived into Noosa just as the sun was setting. At the end of our trip we are 90% sure we are going to settle down for 6 or so months in Brisbane. It feels like a home away from home for us so we won’t be doing a lot of activities in Noosa because it will be basically on our doorstep by the end of the year. We could have skipped it all together however Matt hasn’t been yet and I just had to bring him as it is one of my favourite places so far.
We chose to stay at the Noosa River Holiday Park as it was the closest to the National Park and I am so glad we did. The camp is set right on the Noosa river and the sunset was incredible. We pulled up to our spot and I made a beeline straight for the waters edge as I saw a pelican swimming close by. I managed to snap the most beautiful photo before he swam away.
We set up camp and made some dinner before climbing into the tent for an early night. As I write, I can hear the waves rolling in – its a pretty perfect spot.

Love this Lauren. xxx
